Thank you for this important post David. As an activist and National Leader for ONE.org, pressing for Americans' fullfillment of their commitments to the MDG's and setting world records for "the most people standing up for a cause" with Stand UP four years running, I differ slightly with my neighbor Deepak regarding the significance of the MDG's construction and value of achievements to date. Wholeheartedly share, however, his optimism that humanity will eventually be known as more than a nice experiment which failed - and that will be achieved through love not condemnation. The singular question is how many human beings, how many children, will suffer and die while we debate the assignment and our personal role.
I also agree that it is by working together - via social networks such as this - that we will expedite the process. So heartfelt thank yous also for this forum. We are grateful to be new members and invite everyone able to join our World Shift 2012 Group "Best Brilliant Idea for Humanity Life Skills Report Card" - even if able to contribute only a meditation, blessing or prayer. Please let us know also how we may assist you with your humanitarian endeavors. Closing with the link for a three minute video for Stand Up for the MDG's 2010 for those who've yet to be counted. (ONE San Diego is the rowdy crowd at 2:42 seconds - don't blink :)) Hugs! Marlaine
