WorldShift 2012

I want to extend my thanks and gratitude for the WorldShift community for thought provoking discussion and positive affirmation of a new set of world possibilities. Thank you to all my friends and all those that participate in thought, meditation, and discussion. As I look at the world our ancestors have created, and the world we are responsible for setting in the right direction, I reflect on why it is that we are able to fill sports stadiums with 60 or 70 thousand people eagerly participating in a mindless distraction, while our world is faced with urgently pressing matters that require our attention. I encourage all in the WorldShift network to consider this and also what we might do to create momentum for our ideas and our outlook of higher potentiality.

Thank You All.

Hi David

Thank you SO much for your though provoking question. As synchronicity would have it, it was the perfect thing for me to read today - I was feeling in a funk about living in a household (and a world) that is in so much pain that we typically avoid the problems by putting our heads in the sand, distracting ourselves, and/or blaming others (including the big THEM.) My greatest sadness (fear, really) is in knowing that when we don't confront our own human dis-ease, we will continue to recreate the world as it is!
A system cannot remain out-of-balance for very long, before it spirals out of control. We and our world are clearly out of control. Now is the time when we MUST come together to help address our individual and collective issues or there will indeed be catastrophic consequences! Einstein said, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." My experience has taught me that we can't solve our individual issues, let alone global ones, at the same level of consciousness that created them.
I'm a new member of WorldShift, having recently returned to the City of the Angels (LA) and have been looking for communities of people that are asking the kind of questions you are asking. I believe our greatest hope is in coming together with other like-minded people who are living lives that are part of the solution, instead of part of the recreation of the same, old patterns and belief systems that are cause of so many of our problems = the current paradigm.
Back in 1998, I wrote an article for the Institute of Noetic Sciences' Magazine, of which I was a member, in answer to their question of "How do we creat the world we most deeply long to live in, a world that brings forth and thrives upon the creative contributions of all its citizens?" I wrote back, "I've had a dream for a couple of years now. A vision about creating the kind of community I want to live in. It is a place where spirit based, transformative people receive replenishment to do the work of changing the world! A center that inspires and supports people to be their very best, and takes this spirit out into the community-at-large. My dream even as a name - The Growing Heart Center for Individual and Community Rejuvenation." I got two responses, one of which was from a prison inmate.
The world has changed since then - a lot more of us have been doing our own personal work and coming together more and more to build new models to help us in this major work we have cut out for us. As for me, I've been doing my own healing and spiritual work, working with others and gaining the knowledge, skills and experience to continue my life work - simply because I know we are ONE, and only together can we create a healthier paradigm. Think how much work even little creatures like ants can do when they are in community! The energy is exponential.
Thanks again - just voicing out my passion got me out of my funk!
