And why no one saw it coming....?
Exactly the way John Lennon envisioned it in his song 'Imagine', the World has united.
Without the boundaries of political, religious or philosophical beliefs. Truly established on social and environmental justice.

I have recently found a great study about the efficacy of social networking on Twitter.
I know almost everybody's busy with 9-9-9-.....but on a longer term we can reach far many people with tools like Twitter or Facebook, with significantly less costs than any other marketing or promotional channel.
This study will help to understand the ecology...or system's theory of social networking, and thus giving us guidelines to create a powerful presence…

A very well prepared little animation about the daily morning habit, drinking a latte. I believe this is a perfect way to raise awarness and diminish the ignorance about climate change such as written in my previous post about why we are not more active in killing certain habits. Made by the WWF.

Is there anybody wondering why the obvious effects of climate change is neglected by the ordinary mind?
The American Psychological Association has published a study about the interface between psychology and global climate change.

Dear All,
As 9/9/9 is coming closer and closer, perhaps worth considering launching a social media campaign. There are already a few worldshifters represented on different social networking sites, and these actions could be harmonized, leading into one direction: the communication of the London event.
There are organizations using this opportunity to raise public awarness successfully, please find attached a link to just a few of the many, low-cost petition campaigning…

Exactly on the 9. Sept. there's another initiative kicking off with the slogan: "An exploration of positive potential in a global crisis". It is organized by the Beshara Institute (of Scotland) and they have remarkable partnering associations such as the The Earth Institute or The Gaia Foundation.

I have spent the last few hours with the IBM social media initiative, Smart Cities. Cities they define as the systems of systems. The though is bugging me what Ervin would say from 'The' systems theorist's points of view. How does he envision the future of cities, if systems shall reach the chaos point and turn into another system?
As I wrote in the headline, all comments are welcome!

Last year the world population reached a major landmark: “for the first time in history the urban population will equal the rural population of the world and, from then on, the world population will be urban in its majority.”
The number of mega-cities will increase to 27 in 15 years - UN estimates.
How will they operate and provide home for the people?

In science, the acceptance of new ideas follows a predictable, four-stage sequence. In Stage 1, skeptics confidently proclaim that the idea is impossible because it violates the Laws of Science. This stage can last from years to centuries, depending on how much the idea challenges conventional wisdom. In Stage 2, skeptics reluctantly concede that the idea is possible, but it is not very interesting and the claimed effects are extremely weak. Stage 3 begins when the mainstream realizes that the…

Revolutions in scientific thinking are always difficult – but perhaps one reason why we may see fewer of them in the future is because of the highly professional way in which modern science is organised. It takes a lot of courage to challenge conventionally accepted views, and it needs a certain amount of stamina to constantly battle those who want to protect the status quo. Mavericks do not do well in large organisations, which is what some scientific fields have become.

Simply put, social media marketing is a “rendezvous” of multiple online communities, with one goal in mind: to generate exposure.
This communication channel has never been characterized simplier than this, at least not in any media I've read so far.
Twitter has jumped from 1,1 million users to 19 million in just 6 months.

He added the comment to the link that everyone has to see it who's into enlightenment. I think everybody else has to see it, too.
Though it is partly about how our brain functions - the speaker, Jill Bolte Taylor is a brain scientist - but it turns out to be by the end a message to humanity. Please, check it out, it is funny, uplifting, worth the 18-min investment.

...and we have to use the mobile technology to send our message to the less developed areas.
Great article published on one of our fellow organization, Changemakers' site.
