A Presence of Love

We are forever surrounded by love. From the rays of the sun that nurture and sustain life on our precious planet, to extending a helping hand to another in need, our existence is found within this unifying principle we know in our heart as love. Life itself is the expression of unconditional love and you are here right now simply because you are a magnificent presence of this same love.

The beauty of our journey is that we represent a full spectrum of sizes and shapes, colors and… Continue

An Extraordinary Achievement

Man didn't come into this world for nothing. Man is an extraordinary achievement that has required long and difficult preparation. This achievement is not complete. It would be quite a considerable cosmic disaster if this experiment with man on this earth were to fail, and for this reason much is being done to prevent this experiment from failing - not because man deserves to survive, but because he is really needed.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

When we have exposed the specious reasoning of the hunters' apologists and stripped their sport of its counterfeit legitimacy,
the naked brutality of hunting defines itself:
killing for the fun of it.

and activist (1949-1998)

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry,
and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry
are equal in value no matter what their color.

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Losing one glove / is certainly painful, /
but nothing / compared to the pain, / of losing one, /
throwing away the other, / and finding / the first one again.

scientist (1905-1996)

The great enemy of clear language is insincerity.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

The animal shall not be measured by man.
In a world older and more complete than ours,
they move finished and complete,
gifted with extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear.
They are not brethren; they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time,
fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth.

-Henry Beston, naturalist
and author (1888-1968)

ANOTHER THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Insane people are always sure that they are fine.
It is only the sane people who are willing to admit
that they are crazy.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Real misanthropes are not found in solitude,
but in the world;
since it is experience of life,
and not philosophy,
which produces real hatred of mankind.

-Giacomo Leopardi, poet, essayist,
and philosopher (1798-1837)

OUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT REAL BUT THE PEACE OF THE NOW IS

There is so much on my mind lately that I forget that thoughts are just a collection of words I give meaning to and they are not reality. By this I mean that my thoughts about a client are just my thoughts not necessarily what is real. I think about what Pat Robertson said, “that the Haitian people are suffering because they have a pact with the devil,” and I think he actually believes his thoughts and that is sad. I see myself judging him and when I am conscious I recognize my thoughts are… Continue

What would it look like? - A peaceful, just and sustainable world

worldshift 2012 is all about;

"co-creating the foundations of a peaceful, just and sustainable world by the end of 2012".

My question is what would it look like? how would we recognise it? what's the vision?how will we know when this is achieved? what will be the indicators of success?

I feel that a place is created first in the mind. And the indicators of success are simple. The foundations are not structures or systems, they are physiological - the critical mass of… Continue

Practical consequences of: The declaration of individual rights, interdependence and communal responsibility

This morning I woke up to a consequence of living up to The declaration of individual rights, interdependence and communal responsibility.

The declaration of individual rights, interdependence and communal responsibility

Version 0.0.1

As an individual human being gifted with creative power I hereby declare that I am depending on the world we live in therefore I have like every other human being the right on an equal part of it's resources and in freedom I take on the responsibility to live up to this declaration.

A question of money...

No one, including the experts, asks that question about money . Maybe the answer is too obvious?

I do not think so. If everybody did know the answer the world would be a different place.

What is that question...?

In the good old days of the gold rush if you struck it lucky you could take the refined gold (bullion) to the mint and for a relatively small fee you could pocket the resulting money as a reward for your trouble and luck.

Those were the days when money… Continue

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

In an earlier stage of our development most human groups held to a tribal ethic. Members of the tribe were protected, but people of other tribes could be robbed or killed as one pleased.

Gradually the circle of protection expanded, but as recently as 150 years ago we did not include blacks.

So African human beings could be captured, shipped to America, and sold.

In Australia white settlers regarded Aborigines as a pest and hunted them down, much as kangaroos are hunted down… Continue

My family lights my fire...

As he looked up from the flames
The young warrior, newly painted
He could see..

With light dancing on the walls
He saw the faces of his tribe smiling back at him

And then he felt the warmth, not of the fire
But of their love

And he realised it was not the fire lighting up their smiles
But the love of each of them that ignited each flame
And his heart was filled with humility
