James Baring left a comment for Robert Harris
"Good to hear from you Robert! My old recording studio at 4 Denmark Street is now a guitar shop so probably no use for a retro-movie of the '60s though they have revived the name outside and have mementos inside. Look forward to a chat!"

James Baring commented on David Wilson Siegert's blog post INTO ABSURDITY
"I don't think the world is any more, or less absurd that it has been in the past. Well, yes, it is true that absurdity can only start with human type consciousness. What is new is the level of consequence and humanity's control or the lack…"

Qualitative Easing

Still looking at the resource based economy, we could be in danger of losing the 'slingshot' effect afforded by the global financial crisis if the bankers remain blind to the technological imperative. I am reminded of the time when Rolls Royce, Britain's most prestigious company had to be rescued in 1971 first by the government and then by the American customer for its aero engines, Lockheed. The root of the problem was the lack of a common language and understanding between bankers and… Continue

Discussing the resource-based economy

Here are some notes, starting with some comments on the Laszlo Preview

Preview Page 30:

"This is the “shareholder philosophy.” There was little recognition of a viable alternative

to it in the 1970s, and there was not much awareness in the business world of the need

for one. This is no longer the case. Today business leaders know, even if many do not

act on it, that the responsibility of the company extends beyond its shareholders, to…

Dear James: I appreciate your comments so much. I feel that w are gathering at a time comparable to the rise of early Christianity, the Enlightenment, the first scientific societies, the founders of democracy., the discovery of quantum physics, etc. Those of us attracted to the development of meta-biology, or conscious ethical evolution, those who what is ow being called evolutionaries are forming a vital factor required for a positive future. It seem to me, as Teilhard de Chardin put it, that there is a new type of human arising. He called it Homo progressivus, as I wrote. This type fifty years ago was scattered and did not know each other. As we live through this crises, the type who are sensitive to what is potentially emergent, become a precious vital resources for planetary evolution. it always seems to me that the each of us is "the universe in person." Our intention at this stage subjectively is the universe intending. We do live in the imaginal realm where intention and ideas create cultures.

it is a privilege to be with all of you on this vital purpose
Warm regards, Barbara

I agree fully with your reaction: we should build a new economy, not rebuild the old one. I am affraid, however, that with repaying the supportamounts by JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and others, they think they are of the hook and they stick to the old way of earning money. You really think worse is coming?

State of the economy is truely a signal, although some people see an improvement. I think we will have a further downturn, or at leat no real i,provement. The question is, when will people see thatthey will have to change going from short term self interest to long term our interest. What do you think?
