OK. You got me at hello. Tapping into a common current that has no differentiations. A common outlet/inlet that can easily be accessed, one only has to take the time. Dolphins, by the way, are awesome. I bet they are busy developing intellect, without wasting time on material constructions? I bet as they struggle in a cruel, inhospitable environment with oil sludging around them they think: those ape creatures are going down.
My meditation is to answer them: no, we are only opening our eyes for the first time.
Meditation is the only thing that removes the physical boundaries of 'self', and makes me a WE with the Earth, and Cosmos...Without it I I'm lost in the illusion of ego, and get stuck in logical left of definitions and sensory matter. After meditating I feel the barriers lift and experience the energy exchange between the heartbeat of nameless everything so alive and in motion--another Universe unfolds where there is light within chaos. The more meditators there are, the more there will be--Dolphins do it, or they'll drown...they can't really sleep.
Hello all:
I'm new at meditation, so bear with me as I ask novice questions. When one is deep in meditation, perhaps things you once looked at with little notice become things that have value. Perhaps things you once treasured now become excess, sitting in the garage gathering dust. Is meditation best with some sort of focus, or can one meditate without a plan, just free flowing thought.

Comment by Billy Howell-Sinnard on January 3, 2012 at 10:56am Awareness is beyond knowledge. Everything you need to know is always present in the present. Perception and knowledge are tools to get where you already are.
Too lazy to be ambitious,
I let the world take care of itself.
Ten days' worth of rice in my bag;
a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.
Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?
Listening to the night rain on my roof,
I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.

Comment by Miriam Borne on January 2, 2012 at 5:56pm Meditation is the path of attuning with our higher self, spirit, or that which we
call the soul. It is an ongoing process of forging a link in mental matter between
our personal and greater self. It seems to be our most important life journey,
no matter how many lives it may take to let our soul control our outer form.
Comment by Daghda MacCuolahan on December 9, 2011 at 7:17am The meditation state that I encourage students to achieve represents a condition of inner attentiveness wherein you become aware of your personal consciousness. This practice, in time leads to the awareness that you are a unit of consciousness, one of many. As meditation practice continues you regain your fundamental identity which is, contrary to popular opinion, not simply human, not simply flesh and blood, but a spiritual/non physical entity. Also, through this particular type of meditation you come to understand your relationship, your oneness with all consciousness. Personal growth and optimization is a natural result of meditation.

Comment by Billy Howell-Sinnard on December 6, 2011 at 2:37pm Meditation is a faculty peculiar to humans, maybe more so than language. Without it we are mere animals. When we meditate we bring to light the hidden things of the universe. A sign of intellect is contemplation. A sign of contemplation is silence. You cannot both speak and meditate. But in meditation you are speaking to your spirit, you put questions to your spirit and the spirit answers and the light breaks forth. Meditation can unfold the secrets of things-in-themselves. It discerns the reality of things, puts us in touch with higher consciousness, God.
